Open Evidence

Policies, made transparent

We are a start-up born from the Open University of Catalonia, offering research-based evidence towards innovative and inclusive policies. We focus on Information Society, Research and Innovation, and health and consumer policies. Our three founders and most of our team members have previously worked for the European Commission as senior scientists. More generally, all of Open Evidence has years of experience in delivering dozens of applied policy studies and research for several departments and directorates of the European Commission. Since 2009 our team has successfully completed more than 30 socio-economic studies and research projects. We bridge academia, companies and public authorities to create new policies.

Our Approach

  • Our research design and methodologies are always transparent, replicable and openly shared with our clients and with the community of researchers and practitioners through consultation and validation processes.
  • We open ‘black boxes’ of complex empirical models, scientific data, econometric and statistical techniques and make them into user-friendly analyses that can be fully understood by a wide audience of policy makers and practitioners.
  • Our approach is never technocratic; instead, we open insights and knowledge from different sorts of stakeholders through open online engagement and consultation processes.
